Custom Animatronic Inca Jay Replica Showcases Vibrant Tropical Bird Colors
We have created a life-like animatronic replica of the Inca Jay for a Colombian client’s African bird collection. The 0.9m long model accurately captures the species’ distinctive multicolored plumage – blue crest feathers, blue forehead and nape, yellow underparts, and green back. Special attention was given to recreating the unique feather near the beak base. The head and legs were 3D printed for precision, while artists hand-painted the eyes to achieve lifelike depth. Thousands of artificial feathers were layered to create authentic texture. Five natural movements are featured: head turns, beak motion, wing flaps, body sway, and species-specific vocalizations for immersive display.
